How often should I replace my air filter? This is a somewhat tricky question because every home is different. Some homes and businesses need a new air filter every month while others might be fine for six months or even as much as a year. For starters, check your owner’s documentation to see what your manufacturer recommends. Second, take into account what factors in your home might reduce its longevity. For example, homes with pets, smokers, or other high-odor problems will probably need more frequent filter changes. Ideally, you should check your filter every month and replace it as necessary. This means keep a few spare filters on-hand so you can swap your old filter out if necessary.

How often should I schedule a tune-up?
We recommend having your HVAC system professionally maintained and tuned up twice a year: once in the spring for your air conditioner and another in the fall for your heater. Having each system properly checked out and maintained before the start of its primary season will improve energy efficiency and encourage better longevity throughout the peak of summer or winter. That means better reliability and lower costs.

Why isn’t any cold air coming out?
A lack of cold air could be caused by a huge number of different issues with your air conditioning system. The first thing you should check is that your thermostat is set to “cool” rather than heat (you’d be surprised how often this actually ends up being the problem). If that isn’t the case, then reach out to a member of our team to schedule a diagnostic and repair service right away. Our crew will get to the bottom of your problem and get your system working again.

Why won’t my AC kick on?
There are several reasons why your air conditioner might not turn on when it’s supposed to. For starters, your thermostat’s internal battery may have died. Replace the battery and see if that fixes your problem first. If that doesn’t work, try replacing your air filter and then turn on your air conditioner again. If that doesn’t work, give your air conditioner around 30 to 35 minutes turned off before trying to turn it on again. If your air conditioner is frozen, this should allow it to thaw out to the point where it turns on again. If that still doesn’t work, call us for a repair right away.

We consider a faulty air conditioner an emergency in an environment like Florida.
